TRADITIONAL “NEW YEAR’S DAY RIDE!" For a combined ROMEO RIDE, young or old. No one is counted out! May I suggest that this is not a ride for the faint-hearted, but the requirements are quite simple. If you are able to mount your trusty stead, come join us. The alternative is to crawl in the “CAGE” (better known as the 4-wheeler or automobile). The long-range weather is forecasting 40’s with possible 25% flurries. “All I can say for now is, it will be winter weather!” If you don’t already have a place to be and are feeling some “Cabin Fever,” come one, come all, everyone is welcome. Join us in celebrating the 1st day of the year and first ROMEO RIDE for 2025. HERE’S THE SCOOP: Many of you are familiar with the Green Acres Family Restaurant, Vassar, KS. It is one of our favorites. It is the one and only cafe located near the Pomona Dam on Ks. Hwy 268. The cafe has graciously reserved their back room just for us. This is a Breakfast or lunch ride; it won’t matter the time, just come and enjoy the day! Until then, have a “HAPPY NEW YEAR” and I hope to see you there! What a day for the 1st Wednesday Romeo Ride for 2025. It was certainly a most frigid ride this morning for those of us who ventured out on our 2-wheelers to brave the freezing cold. I was impressed with the number who came to “Green Acres Family Restaurant” to celebrate this very first day of the new year. As always, the food was delicious and the ladies serving us were delightfully fabulous. Our waitress kept the food coming in a timely manner and at the same time made sure our water glasses and coffee cups were full without a hitch. As I recall, the last count taken was 28. I must confess that I was having such fun visiting . . . so much so that I missed taking some photos of all the bikes and those who made it later. It was so good to see everyone, and I’m looking forward to our meeting again soon. I’ve been told that next week’s weather could be a spoiler. The only thing I can say for now is, stay tuned to the WEBSITE. Let’s stay positive and tell ourselves that in the worst situations, “always keep doing what you CAN, until you can do what you LIKE!” So, Cheerio, the harsh reality is . . . winter is here, so let’s keep smiling!
